What is GFRC? Glass-fiber reinforced concrete
GFRC is concrete reinforced with alkali-resistant (AR) glass fibers, used in architectural precast components.
GFRC allows thinner facade components that are typically lighter than equivalent solid precast concrete solutions. This can simplify transport and installation and reduce loads on the building structure. Comparisons must account for the complete assembly, including frames and connections, and be verified for each project.
It supports curved surfaces, reliefs and finishes developed through samples. The complete assembly may include frames and connections.
For specification, share geometry, finish, location and support conditions. Weight must account for the complete assembly, not just its concrete skin.
